Mysterious Mingling of Kindred Personalities

God formed us for His pleasure, and so formed us that we as well as He can in divine communion enjoy the sweet and mysterious mingling of kindred personalities. He meant us to see Him and live in Him and draw our life from His smile. (The Pursuit Of God)

Three weeks ago we made our move to Austin, TX. Months before making the move, God was at work in mine and Cassie's life about what this next chapter of our life would be like. Without question, I knew God was preparing for me to better understand this idea of "community" as experienced in Acts. Now, I have often fought against letting people get too close to me, all the while trying to be a help to them. However, knowing that God has created me and my "mysterious mingling of kindred personalities" (personalities my be really appropriate in describing me;) then I must strive, work toward, struggle with allowing others to know me more so I may know them more SO I may learn and grow in God more. Who He is to them is a new view of Him that I can only catch a glimpse of if I know His people - truly know them. AND if I don't allow them to know me (truly know me) then I am robbing them of that glimpse of Him in me.

So, God please give wisdom, strength, and humility to be vulnerable to those around me so there may be true community in my life just as there is true community in YOU.
