Leaders build commuity

There is a lot to consider when you are given an opportunity by God to help lead others. Too often we take this call for granted. We believe the position entitles us to rights. We believe it entitles us to the right to be right. We believe it entitles us to the right to go with reckless abandonment, the right to run ahead on our own, the right to tell everyone to catch up. The right to be considered better at what we lead than anyone else.
Too often we try to lead so far out in front that we leave others behind. You may respond, "Well, if they can't keep up that's their weakness - not mine." But we must understand that a leader is responsible for everyone they lead – their core supporters and those at the fringe that may have their doubts. A leader builds community. A leader is inclusive.
God has called each of us to build this community. He designed us with this need for a relationship with Him and with others. One cannot be the most effective leader God has created them to be without true community.
Where there is leadership, there is a sense of community. ~ Michael McKinney
